On February 13, FAW Jiefang held its powertrain technology and product launch event themed “Powered by Innovation, Leading the Future” at its powertrain manufacturing facility in Changchun. Attendees included Wang Zilian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Mayor of Changchun; Jiang Huifeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Changchun; Qiu Xiandong, Secretary of the CPC FAW Group Committee and Chairman of FAW Group; and Wu Bilai, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC FAW Group Committee and Deputy General Manager of FAW Group. Li Sheng, Chairman and Secretary of the CPC FAW Jiefang Committee, unveiled FAW Jiefang’s latest smart powertrain technologies and products. The event was also attended by leaders from relevant municipal departments, executives from FAW Group and FAW Jiefang, overseas clients, partners, and industry media representatives.

At the press conference, Wu Bilie presented plaques to representatives from 10 companies—including TWT Construction and Deppon Logistics—that are members of the “Thousand-Unit Customer Club” and have annual procurement volumes exceeding 1,000 Jiefang trucks. This marks FAW Jiefang’s establishment of a high-end customer network spanning core domestic logistics enterprises and overseas markets.
Li Sheng grandly unveiled FAW Jiefang’s latest technologies and products in the intelligent powertrain domain. He emphasized that FAW Jiefang consistently prioritizes product and technological innovation in its corporate development. In recent years, the company has accelerated R&D and manufacturing in intelligent powertrain solutions, achieving significant results. This launch features four new intelligent powertrain products spanning both oil/gas and new energy powertrain domains.
In the oil and gas smart powertrain domain, Li Sheng introduced the GS280 and GD300 products. The GS280 integrates the 15L6SV3 natural gas engine, T-shift transmission, lightweight 440 axle, and IPU domain control software platform, achieving breakthroughs in 28 core technologies. Hardware innovations include nine industry-first technologies. The engine pioneers ultra-high compression ratio combustion technology for natural gas engines, achieving 42.5% thermal efficiency and a B10 lifespan of 2 million kilometers. The transmission boasts an overall efficiency exceeding 98.5%, while the drive axle achieves 98.1% efficiency. Domain control software features seven proprietary technologies: intelligent throttle control, intelligent maintenance, and intelligent safety systems. The GD300 comprises the 13L6DV1 diesel engine, T-shift transmission, lightweight 440 axle, and IPU domain control software platform. The engine achieves mass-production thermal efficiency exceeding 50%. The IPU domain control software shares a common platform with natural gas systems. Addressing industry pain points such as complex diesel aftertreatment system structures and significant thermal management fuel consumption losses, it has achieved breakthroughs in eight software technologies, including three industry-first innovations. To support mass production and market launch of oil-gas powertrain products, FAW Jiefang’s intelligent factories in Wuxi, Changchun, and Dalian have received over 4 billion yuan in new investments, prioritizing smart manufacturing to ensure high-quality delivery. Currently, oil-gas smart powertrain products are fully integrated into models like J7, Eagle Trail, JH6, and J6V, earning widespread trust from logistics operators and drivers.
In the realm of new energy smart powertrain products, FAW Jiefang has comprehensively deployed pure-electric E-platform, hybrid H-platform, and hydrogen F-platform powertrain solutions. Li Sheng’s announcement highlighted two pure-electric E-platform products: the ER260 and EE270. The ER260 centers on an electric drive axle, comprising a single-pack underbody battery, heavy-duty electric drive axle, and IPU domain control software platform. It incorporates 20 core technological achievements, including six industry-first hardware innovations. The electric drive axle pioneers high-efficiency oil-cooled flat-wire motor technology, achieving over 90% efficiency in more than 90% of operating conditions, with a comprehensive drive axle efficiency of 90.6%. In domain control software, it features four proprietary intelligent reliability and energy-saving technologies. The EE270 centers on an electric drive box, comprising a side-mounted battery, heavy-duty electric drive box, drive axle, and IPU domain control software platform. It reuses the ER260 domain control software technology while further advancing 10 hardware innovations—including three industry-firsts. Utilizing dual motors and dual four-speed power decoupling technology, it achieves a system efficiency of 92%, ensuring no slippage during heavy-load hill climbs. The electric drive box enables rapid cold-start operation at -30°C without speed restrictions. FAW Jiefang has established full-chain independent production capabilities for electric drive and battery systems, innovating multi-condition simulation offline inspection systems and automated manufacturing quality assessment systems to deliver optimal product quality. FAW Jiefang prioritizes aftermarket ecosystem collaboration, partnering with CATL to establish a new energy solutions company covering charging/battery swapping operations, vehicle-battery separation, and whole-vehicle leasing. This year, its new energy smart powertrain products will debut across models including J6L, J6P, and JH6, achieving energy consumption per 100km exceeding industry benchmarks by over 5% and key components with B10 lifespans reaching 2 million kilometers.
