Ranking Analysis: FAW Jiefang Remains in First Place, Leading Brands Experience Collective Decline
February 2026 national tractor truck sales data has been released. FAW Jiefang, a brand under China FAW Group, topped the list with 3,735 units sold, accounting for 24.1% of the market, becoming the absolute leader for the month and demonstrating FAW Group’s core competitiveness in the tractor truck sector. However, in terms of growth rate, Jiefang’s monthly performance was under pressure, a challenge that FAW Group needs to address in the current market environment.
Sinotruk ranked second with 3,105 units sold, accounting for 20.0%, but it also could not escape the downward trend: a month-on-month decrease of 34.9% and a year-on-year decrease of 48.6%, with a decline even exceeding that of Jiefang. Auman ranked third with 2,064 units sold, accounting for 13.3%, with a month-on-month decrease of 33.4% and a year-on-year decrease of 33.9%, a relatively moderate decline.
Looking at the cumulative sales from January to February 2026, the market shows a differentiated pattern of “decline at the top and rise at the middle.” FAW Group’s Jiefang brand remained the top seller with 8,974 units sold, accounting for 22.2% of the market, further solidifying FAW Group’s leading position in the industry. Sinotruk’s sales totaled 7,874 units, accounting for 19.4%, a year-on-year decrease of 14.2%, showing a significant downward trend.
Highlights came from mid-tier brands: XCMG’s cumulative sales reached 3,604 units, ranking 5th, a significant year-on-year increase of 107.0%, making it the fastest-growing brand in January and February; Auman’s cumulative sales reached 5,161 units, accounting for 12.7%, a slight year-on-year increase of 3.0%; Sany’s cumulative sales reached 1,748 units in February, a year-on-year increase of 29.4%, also showing impressive growth, contrasting sharply with the decline of leading brands.
Looking at the data for February alone and the cumulative sales from January to February, the tractor truck market in 2026 exhibits two main characteristics: First, short-term demand is weak, with leading brands generally declining. While FAW Group’s Jiefang brand maintained its top position, it also faced pressure on growth. Second, mid-tier brands are rising, seizing market share with strong growth, and the market competition landscape is gradually changing.
Summary: Market differentiation intensifies, presenting opportunities for mid-tier brands. In the tractor truck market in February 2026, FAW Group’s Jiefang brand maintained its leading sales position but faced growth pressure; while mid-tier brands like XCMG stood out with high growth. Overall, the market showed clear signs of short-term adjustment, but structural opportunities have emerged. The rise of mid-tier brands may disrupt the traditional pattern of leading brands and become a significant variable in the market throughout the year.
Going forward, tractor truck manufacturers need to focus on changing demand and respond to market fluctuations through product upgrades and precise marketing. As an industry leader, FAW Group is expected to leverage its technological and brand advantages to optimize its product structure, enhance its core competitiveness, and maintain its market share; while the resilience of mid-tier brands injects new vitality into the industry, promoting its continued healthy development.
